Wichita banker and Project Wichita co-chairman Aaron Bastian has another hat to wear.

Bastian, president of Fidelity Bank, was recently appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Fed's Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council.

Started in 2011, the council is tasked with providing input to the Federal Reserve Bank on economic conditions and lending trends.

"I’m honored to be appointed to this committee and look forward to interacting with other financial professionals in regard to Federal Reserve policy," Bastian said in a statement.

Other new members of the council for 2019 include Chris Donnelly, president and CEO, Bank of the Prairie in Olathe; Gerry Agnes of Elevations Credit Union in Boulder, Colo.; Gary Crum of Western States Bank in Laramie, Wyo.; Tom Gdowski of Equitable Financial Corp. in Grand Island, Neb.; Alan Shettlesworth of Main Bank in Albuquerque, N.M.; and Kristie Stuewe of First Missouri Bank in Brookfield, Mo.

The 12-member council will send a representative from the Kansas City Fed's district to meet with the Federal Reserve System's Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., twice this year. Brad Koehn — regional president of Midwest Bank in Lincoln, Neb. — will go to Washington this year.

The Kansas City Fed's district includes parts or all of seven states — Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wyoming, New Mexico and Missouri.
