Oh say can you see! The Star Spangled Banner has been performed at sporting events since 1918 and was designated as the National Anthem in 1931. Now in the Thunder’s 25th anniversary season, the Choir of the Game program gives young vocalists in area schools an opportunity to perform the National Anthem during the pre-game ceremony at each of their 36 home games. Experience an action-packed weekend with the ACSAA Wheelchair Basketball Bash, the only regular season event featuring 15 intercollegiate division teams and high school athletes. The games will be played at the Andover YMCA on January 12 – 14 and admission is free. All proceeds go to further competitive athletic opportunities for students with disabilities. The 2nd Annual Shaker Full of Wishes benefiting Make-A-Wish Kansas will take place on February 3, 2017 to help fund the heartfelt wishes of Kansas children. Join for an evening of locally-inspired martinis shaken and stirred by drink artists, light hors d’ oeuvres, and music. Currently there are more than 125 Kansas children with a life-threatening medical conditions awaiting wishes. It is Make-A-Wish’s vision to be able to grant the wish of every child who qualifies for their program.
